Assistant Warehouse Manager


LSG Sky Chefs is an international airline catering business with facilities around the world.  In New Zealand, we have kitchens in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown, and we deliver approximately 25,000 meals a day to local and international airlines.

 

We’re looking for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the day‑to‑day operations of our busy warehouse facility. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, leading people, and keeping operations running smoothly.

In this role, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, external customers, and third‑party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure our warehouse delivers exceptional service and accuracy. You’ll support the Warehouse Manager in driving performance, maintaining safety standards, and leading a high‑performing team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting daily warehouse operations including receiving, picking, packing, delivering product to internal customers, and stock control
  • Leading and guiding warehouse staff to meet productivity and accuracy targets
  • Coordinating with internal teams such as procurement, production, customer service and the dispatch team
  • Communicating professionally with external customers and 3PL providers
  • Assisting with stocktakes, cycle counts, and investigating discrepancies
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, and workflow optimisation
  • Acting as second‑in‑charge to the Warehouse Manager and stepping in when required

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
  • Solid understanding of warehouse systems (WMS/ERP) and scanning technology
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
  • Being a TFO is considered a strong advantage

Forklift certification and experience with 3PL environments are also beneficial.
