Kitchen Hand- Queenstown

LSG Sky Chefs is an airline and convenience retail catering company operating at four sites in New Zealand.  We cater international flights and domestic flights plus retail ready to eat meals.

To help us grow, we are looking for experienced kitchen staff who have a strong production focus.  You might not have a formal culinary qualification, but you will have experience in bulk catering or production food manufacturing.

You will be hands on and you will be producing food items to strict specifications agreed with our clients.   You will be the kind of person who can turn out large numbers of a menu item with each of them being perfect and identical.  You will also have a good understanding of food safety.

You may also be a part of the team that plates meals and prepares food and equipment items for airline passengers.  

These positions are mostly daytime hours on single shifts (not split).  Our employment agreement guarantees you at least 40 hours work a week.  You will need to be able to work across a 7-day roster (typically 5 days a week rotating).

Ideal candidates will have:

• A good eye for detail 
• Be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment or a production kitchen
• Work at standing workstations 
• Be able to follow basic work instruction documents (speak & write in English)
• Preferable previous experience in food preparation or pick and pack job
• Valid work rights enabling them to work full time in New Zealand
